Ellie is a British/French artist and educator based in San Francisco, CA. Her current medium is analog collage and image transfers; however, she trained as a multi-media artist and still enjoys experimenting with video, slides and projection work.
Ellie is a collector of sorts and loves to comb the city for curious memorabilia. In particular, she hunts down abandoned books and paper goods thriving to give them a new lease on life. She creates playful, humoristic and sometimes dark collages from old children’s encyclopedias, retro science books and outdated romance novels. She dissects people, animals and places, morphing them into a world of colourful clusters.
Ellie has participated and collaborated in the art, theater, fashion and film industry both locally and internationally. She is a former member of the Pacific Northwest Collage Collective, a Postal Collage Project collaborator and a participant in the yearly Februllage collage challenge organized by the Edinburgh Collage Collective and Scandinavian Collage Museum.
In 2022, she was shortlisted for the Contemporary Collage Magazine Awards in the analog collage series category.
